Community Energy Meet Up (Earthfest!) – People Power: What Does the Future of Community Energy Look Like?

June 7 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

(**This is a free event but please book a ticket through Eventbrite**)
Join Us for a special Earthfest edition of our Community Energy Meet Ups, where they’ll be asking What Does the Future of Community Energy Look Like? With special guest David Tudgey from Bristol Energy Network.
For over 14 years, BEN has been pioneering community-led energy across Bristol and the West of England – from tackling fuel poverty and running DIY energy workshops to delivering landmark projects like the Ambition Lawrence Weston wind turbine. Their work shows what’s possible when communities come together to take control of their energy future.
Come along to explore how we to shape the next chapter of community energy, share your ideas, and connect with others who care about a cleaner, fairer energy system.
We’ll be thinking big – about the role community energy can play not just locally, but in the wider fight against climate change. This is a chance to look ahead, together, at what a sustainable, low-carbon future could look like for our neighbourhood and our planet.
Plus this month ELCoE will be putting on a spread with a community lunch, to celebrate being part of Earthfest and holding our first daytime meet up!
(Meeting Room 1, Lyde Green Community Centre)

About Retrofit West
ELCoE have been able to set up their monthly meet ups with the support of Retrofit West and their Community Innovation Fund.
Retrofit West is a Community Interest Company (CIC) offering concise and independent advice and support for domestic retrofit projects in the West of England. They believe that retrofitting is a crucial tool in the fight against climate change and that it has several benefits for the community, including reducing carbon emissions, improving energy efficiency, creating local jobs, and improving the health and well-being of residents.
Retrofit West was created by the Centre for Sustainable Energy, one of the country’s leading retrofit and energy advice organisations, with funding from the West of England Combined Authority.
We’ll be joined on Saturday by Matt Williams from Retrofit West, who’ll be there to answer any questions you might have about making changes to your home.
