Meet the Team

Chris is an environmental entrepreneur, author and presenter. A co-founder of the Bristol Pound, as well as a variety of projects in Emersons Green (such as the community orchard, dinosaur garden and Earth Trail), his latest book is entitled ‘Imagination is the key – to unlock the environmental crisis’


Chris Sunderland
Director (Chair)

Penny is a local mum of two boys, with a keen interest in sustainability & the environment. She became an ELCoE director as she wants to do her bit to tackle climate change and hopes to promote renewable energy & energy efficiency within our local area.


Penny Bygrave
Director

A URC minister, Stephen is passionate about green issues. He became an ELCoE Director as he feels we all have to take responsibility, and that a local approach creates real community and accountability. He’s lived around Bristol for 30 years and Emerson’s for 3 years. He cycles, walks his dog, and potters with music.


Stephen Newell
Director

Bobbie is a Town Councillor for Emersons Green and Chair of the Climate and Nature Group. She moved to Emersons Green when it was first built and is a retired Management Accountant with experience in Local Government and several not-for-profit local initiatives.


Bobbie Sunderland
Director (Finance)

Paul is the Environmental Services Manager Emersons Green Town Council. He works on projects promoting sustainability, biodiversity and the natural environment, as well as looking after the local allotments and common land. He likes spending time with his family and two young children, rock climbing, and tending his allotment plot.


Paul Kearsley
Director

A retired Chartered Engineer with a PhD in Aeronautical Engineering, Graham has 30+ years of experience in research and development in the Aerospace Industry. 
His particular ELCoE related interests are in renewable energy, heat pumps, and measuring heat loss from buildings.


Graham Johnson
Director (Company Secretary)

Grace has a varied background in Engagement, Marketing, and Theatre Producing. She moved from Bristol City Council to join ELCoE as she was keen to work for an environmentally-focused organisation. She loves sharing local stories and is currently in the middle of her own whole-home DIY renovation.
